At Mountain Thyme we believe great food doesn’t have to be complicated; and we know that with a little guidance and a sprinkling of inspiration we can get anyone cooking delicious food that everyone wants to eat. Our aim is to help you create food you can be proud of, without any of the stress.

Set in the centre of the stunning Swiss resort of Verbier, Mountain Thyme offers you a chance to hone your cooking skills whilst enjoying your Alpine holiday. Whether you prefer not to ski every day or fancy something a little different, there are a wide range of courses to suit you. Ranging from ‘Dinner party classics’, ‘Family favourites’, ‘Canapes & cocktails’, ‘Gluten-free cooking’ and plenty more, including wine matching evenings and children’s classes. We can also arrange classes for private groups or individuals specially tailored to your requirements. 

With 20 years experience in professional kitchens and teaching cookery, Cat Sheppard is following a long-held dream of opening a cookery school in her favourite place on earth. She has a wealth of knowledge garnered from travelling, cooking and teaching around the world for stars and mere mortals alike.

Mountain Thyme also offer a private dining space for up to 12 guests with a bespoke menu for special occasions or evenings when you just feel like being spoiled. These can be offered with or without a cookery demonstration.

Bread making course

Just spent a wonderful morning making bread at Mountain Thyme Cookery School - white bread in a dutch oven; rye, honey n date bread; focaccia; sodabread and the best pizza ever. Never eating store-bought pizza again!! Go check out their cookery course, super reasonable as well.
